Difficulties for Austrian Start-ups
Start-ups strenghen Economy through Innovation
What it means to be a start-up, we truely know. The first three years are the most difficult for start-up companies – most start-ups fail in this time. Many things we succeeded only were possible with help of the Austrian supporting bank AWS. This year Michele Stinco in fact was chosen as a jury member of AWS for his long time experience with polychromelab.

Start-up polychromelab – hightech winter jackets
Firstly, there was an idea: a fabric that cools on one side and, reversed to the other side, warms to need less clothing at winter sports. Secondly, a prototype was engineered: a winter jacket that is windproof, waterproof and breathable. Thirdly, there was the innovation: a hightech reversible jacket that is capable of nearly everything.
The problem is to make this highend jacket ready for series production without generating too much costs. AWS supporting programms helped us to found polychromelab inc. and to win many awards with our innovative products. Many innovative start-ups don’t have the chance to do the same.

New OESV Ski Overall: Nicole Hosp’s Statement
For the alpine skiing worldcup in Bad Kleinkirchheim OESV ski racers got a new onepiece ski overall, which is designed by a collaboration between Schoeffel and OESV Racing using polychromelab’s fabric. The former Alpine Racing Ski overall worldcup’s winner Nicole Hosp gives her statement in an interview. She wears this new OESV ski overall and tells us about features of her new reversible Warmup Suit.

This new oesv alpine skiing overall is perfect for ski racers at training and race time. The black side on top warms athletes in rest periods and coldness. At sports and exhaustion or when sun radiations gets higher (especially in spring), one often gets too warm wearing a chunky ski jacket. But the new oesv onepiece overall is reversible to a silver side, which reflects sun radiation and transports warmth from the inside to the outside. This gear concept by Schoeffel helps athletes to sweat less at warmup and need less clothing to stay warm.
This way Niki Hosp is always suited best. Considering the bad weather at Alpine Racing Ski worldcup in Bad Kleinkirchheim the warming ski overall was really required, like you can see on the picture bellow.

Hirte wählt Allwetterjacke von polychromelab
Der Ursprung
Thomas Quarta sitzt im Wald auf einer Bank und schaut ins Inntal. Thomas Quarta ist Hirte und sehr naturverbunden. Die Zigarette im Mund beschließt er kurzerhand einen Sommer auszusteigen. Er bewirbt sich als Kuh-Hirte auf einer Alm in der Schweiz für den Sommer 2014. Alles Was er braucht ist Verpflegung, Zigaretten und natürlich eine gute Jacke.
Die Natur-Jacke
Thomas Quarta ist als naturverbundener und umweltbewusster Mensch natürlich auch eine umweltfreundliche Jacke wichtig. Er wird auf die polychromelab Jacken aufmerksam, da die umweltfreundlichen Stoffe für jedes Wetter geeignet sind. Das letztjährige Projekt von Matthias Aichner, der ebenfalls als Hirte einen Sommer lang die Alta Quota Outdoorjacke zufrieden verwendet hat, inspiriert Thomas Quarta dieses Jahr.
Die ersten Wochen
Die ersten Wochen auf der Alm sind natürlich total cool. Der Hirte Thomas Quarta treibt die Kühe auf die Alm und zündet sich erstmal eine Zigarette an. Ganz entspannt sieht er den nächsten Wochen entgegen. Auch wenn’s mal regnet…
